Out on a Limb: A Powerful Start to Our New Amputee Support Group

Our team at Manfredi Orthotics & Prosthetics is thrilled to share that our first-ever Out on a Limb amputee support group meeting was a huge success! On April 24th, we gathered with a remarkable group of individuals at our Eatontown office to kick off this exciting new chapter in community support, connection, and shared growth.

Building a Safe Space for Real Conversation

Out on a Limb was created with one goal in mind: to provide individuals living with limb loss or limb difference a consistent, compassionate, and empowering space to connect with others who understand their journey. At our first session, we shared introductions, stories, highs and lows from the past month, and dove into a truly impactful discussion on skin care and limb health as we approach the warmer summer months.

Participants also received summer-ready prosthetic care kits filled with helpful products and tips — a token of our commitment to both community and personalized care.

Real Talk About What Matters Most

From skin irritation to mental health, challenges with socket fit to moments of pride and resilience — our group opened up and offered insight, support, and strength to one another. It was exactly the kind of conversation we hoped for: honest, compassionate, and driven by lived experience.

We’re already looking forward to seeing this group grow as we continue to meet on the last Thursday of every month.

Because no one should ever feel alone like they’re - “out on a limb”! 💙
