Experienced Guidance at the Beginning – and Beyond
Limb loss is not just a physical event. It brings emotional, mental, and practical questions that often begin before surgery and continue long after. Patients and families are suddenly faced with unfamiliar decisions at a time when clarity can feel hard to find.
At Manfredi O&P, we believe the first step should never feel rushed or transactional.
A free consultation is the start of a relationship built on listening, honesty, and decades of experience. Bob or Jean Manfredi speak directly with patients and families to answer questions, explain what to expect, and help establish realistic goals — early in the process, when guidance matters most.
These conversations often take place before surgery or shortly after. We talk through what the days, weeks, and months ahead may look like, how prosthetic care fits into recovery, and how life gradually begins to take shape again. Nothing is sugar-coated, and nothing is pushed. The goal is understanding, confidence, and a clear path forward.
Every person experiences limb loss differently. Some need calm reassurance. Others need straightforward answers. Some want emotional connection, others prefer practical discussion. We respect that and meet each individual — and family — where they are, mentally and physically.
Having both Bob and Jean available allows patients to connect in the way that feels most comfortable to them, while still receiving consistent, experienced guidance.
Meeting People Where They Are
Experience That’s Both Professional and Personal
Manfredi O&P has walked beside individuals and families through limb loss for generations. That understanding is not only professional — it is personal.
Members of the Manfredi family themselves have experienced limb loss, including Robert Manfredi Sr., who became a below-knee amputee later in life after founding the practice in 1958. That lived experience shapes how we listen, how we communicate, and how we support patients through every stage of the process.
For New and Experienced Amputees
Some people come to us at the very beginning of their journey. Others arrive later — after relocating, seeking improved fit, faster adjustments, or a more responsive approach to care.
Whether you’re new to limb loss or looking to improve your current situation, we take the time to understand your goals, identify challenges, and build a collaborative plan to move forward with confidence. If you have goals, we will help you work toward them — thoughtfully and efficiently.
