Learn to Scuba Dive Adaptive Sports with Ken Hoffman

  • ESCNJ Aquatics and Fitness Center 333 Cheesequake Road Palrin, New Jersey, 08859 United States (map)

Our third annual adaptive scuba clinic, taught by Ken Hoffman — a certified dive instructor who has been an amputee for more than 25 years and who leads our Out on a Limb support group. You don't need to know how to dive, and you don't need to own a mask, fins, or a tank. All the necessary equipment is provided. Instruction covers underwater breathing, safety gear, and buoyancy control, at your pace, and nobody goes in alone. Every level of limb loss is welcome — upper limb, lower limb, above knee, below knee, bilateral, congenital — and you're welcome to sit on the deck and watch instead. Ken is also a regional contact for LifeWaters, which runs adaptive dive training for veterans, first responders, and civilians with disabilities. Space is limited. RSVP to (732) 380-0366 or info@manfredioandp.com.
